New Classes:
Baby quilt
Beginning Machine Piecing

A new session of this popular class will begin Oct. 15. The class will meet every Monday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for seven weeks, finishing in mid-November.

This class is especially for those who want to learn to machine piece a quilt top or for those who are self-taught but would like to learn techniques. Marcy will lead this group.

You will learn to make color and fabric choices, proper use of a rotary cutter and mat, speed-piecing techniques, squaring up your blocks and adding borders and binding. Anyone is welcome regardless of experience!

Cost is as follows:
-- Book, $14.95;
-- Teaching fee, $5 per student per class;

-- Fabric

Students will receive a 10% discount on the book, fabric and all supplies purchased for the class, plus 10% off on purchases the day of each class (some exculsions apply).


Tumbling Block Quilt

Learn to make the classic Tumbling Block without any troublesome "Y" seams. With this new technique there is no reason to shy away from this traditional quilt pattern.


Jelly Roll Quilt

Great for beginners. Learn to use a jelly roll for a quick and easy quilt.

Snowflake Christmas Tree

Sept 15, Oct., 20, Nov. 7, Dec. 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Class fee: $40 per session (lunch included) plus $15 pattern first class

An outstanding holiday piece from and nationally known teacher. This class is geared toward the beginner. Learn the stem, stem whipped, double running whipped, Fly, and Grenito stitches, All beading and sequin techniques are shown in the classes. The finished wallhanging is 30 inches square.


Farmer's Wife 1930s Sampler Quilt

Create all 99 six-inch bloacks from the book "The Famer's Wife 1930s Sample Quilt". The group is great way to learn to quilt, as the classes starts with the easiest blocks and progresses to those that are more complex. Choose either hand-or machine piecing. Each class is $12 and includes instruction, handouts, 1/2-yard of cotton fabric and peridoic giveaways.

Newcomers can start at any time.

Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star

--Sept. 27: Liberty Lemoyne Star;

--Oct. 11 Blazing Lemone Star
Class fee: $10 per session plus supplies

Have you ever wanted to make the Lemoyne Star Block but were intimidated by the "Y" seam? Now you can make perfect blocks every time -- with ease and NO "Y" seam. A revolutionary new technique and Trim Down Tool make finished block sizes from 3 inches to 12 inches. Learn the basic block in the first class and then learn techniques for the other variations of this classic block.



Free Sit and Sew

Our FREE Sit and Sew group studies hand-piecing quilt blocks. We talk about hand embroidery, hand piecing, English Paper Piecing, the Lucy Boston quilt, and many other topics.

There is no charge; pay only for fabric and supplies you buy.

Newcomers are always welcome.
