— Winter beauty in hand embroidery and beading abounds in this new framed design from Karen.
First, study holly leaves, granitos, Hungarian Braided chain and beaded berries.
In part two, study stitches outline/stem, running stitch whipped, satin, Palestrina knot and beading and sequin application.
Cost is $40 per session and includes lunch, $12 pattern & cost of cotton fabric & thread.
Beginner to intermediate, lunch included.

— Create an evening bag with metallic and bauble braid and silk pin-tucked fabric, ribbon roses & beads.

Binding Class: 12:30pm – 3:30pm Fri March 23 or Tues May 22
— A quilter needed 9 yards of binding and just had some cut up scraps of the matching fabric she wanted to use.
We showed her how to take a 22 inch square of fabric and turn it into 24 feet of bias binding.
This is an age old technique for making continuous binding that is a good skill to know.
Class includes the measurement reference chart for all sizes and amounts.
After the strip is made, we will show you how to run the strip through the bias ironing machine
which folds and irons 12 feet of bias in just 90 seconds. Cost is $15 . B
NEW "Welcome" Hand Embroidery with Karen Phillips-Shwallon

— Intermediate skill hand embroidery class in 4 parts. In part one, learn how to transfer pattern to fabric,
choose threads and learn raised stem, French knots and basket weaving. In part two, make hydrangea flowers,
petite bullion daises, ribbon berries, fargo roses, bumble bees, leaves and stems.
In part three, learn buttonhole whorl, ribbon loop flower, Irises, tulips, spiral flowers,
violas beaded berries & 5–petal flowers. Date for part IV to be announced. Each session $40 and includes lunch.

Flower Petals Galore Made Simple For Children and Adults: Noon – 3pm Sat April 7
— You'll be amazed how easy it is to make pointed, round or gathered flower petals for embellishing purses,
shoes, flip flops, garments and quilts. $5 plus cost of template and fabric. B, M
NEW Wool Felted Necklace Pouch With Kathy Chamberlain & Robin Walker: 11am – 3pm Sat April 14
— In this one day class, make a cute, fun pocket necklace for your cell phone or credit card or what not.
Felt and embellish and most likely finish by the end of the day. $20 includes sweater pieces for pocket.
Cost of embellishments could be smaller since you are using small bits and pieces. B, L

— Learn the age-old technique of needleturn appliqué and make this small throw of vines, l

NEW Remember Me Fabric Necklace with Cindy Kovack: 11am – 2pm Sat April 20
— Bring memory items lost and forgotten in your jewelry box like an old key, coin, piece of
jewelry and a black and white copy of a photo of a loved one. Learn to colorize the photo and preserve
all your mementos in a one–of–a–kind necklace to cherish, wear or hang on the wall.
Fee is $15 + cost of bits of fabric, embellishments. B, M, L
NEW Figgy Pudding Stumpwork with Marilyn Hommer: 10:30am – 3pm Saturday April 28
— Beautiful embroidered, beaded stumpwork figs surrounded by rounded stems, free-standing leaf
and embellished trim all on silk. Bring your oval tin or use one of ours about 2½ by 3¼ inches.
Knowledge of embroidery required. $25 I, L, M
Tin Pin Holder with Cindy Kovack: Noon – 4pm Tues June 5
— Did you know that anyone has a free magnet at their fingertips for a pin holder?
Learn to adhere fabric to metal or any surface and use quilt fabric as a collage base.
This handy tin will hold your pins, needles and thread scraps. $15 (includes tin) plus cost
of embellishments you choose. B, M
NEW Stitches Together with Cindy O: 10:30am – 3:30pm Sat May 12
— Our topic is embroidering with "the velvet thread" – chenille as practiced in the 1800s.
In this continuing class, learn hand embroidery and practice unusual stitches.
Stitch on your crazy patchwork or purchase our banded Japanese fabric ($3) for easy stitching and no measuring.
Bring your embroidery floss. $15 includes needle & chenille to get started. B, L
Hand-Pieced Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt:
6–8pm the 2nd Wed each month ...
1–3pm the 2nd Thursday each month
— It's like collecting beanie babies. We just can't get enough of making all these different historic
quilt patterns out of all sorts of different fabrics. It is addictive! $10 per month includes
4 block fabric kits, pattern, instruction and sit, sew & snack time.
We print the templates from the CD and size them for you! Two additional blocks are available
if you like each month. We are looking forward to 111 blocks! Learn a lot in this relaxing class.
