The 2009 Piecemaker's Crazy Quilt Calendar has arrived. Crazy pieced blocks of silver, black and gray patchwork bedecked with the Piecemaker's imaginative embroidery stitches fill the 12 quilt blocks of this incredible quilt. The center block is a red velvet embellished patchwork butterfly. Rhinestone and vintage pearl spiders, metallic embroidery, sequined butterflies, woolwork embroidery and Hanah hand-dyed silk ribbon are among the delights creative stitchers will find on these original quilt blocks.

Water-soluble graphite pencil that replaces the beloved Karisma Aquarelle graphite pencil. Sadly, the Karisma is no longer being manufactured. Quilter's Fancy worked with the pencil manufacturer and found that this Water-Soluble Graphite pencil best matches scientifically the properties of the Karisma Aquarelle. We tested this pencil for more than a year. We found it washes out of 100 percent cotton even easier than the Aquarelle with soap and water and a little rubbing. Its great for marking quilt lines. As with all markers, never allow heat to get near marked lines as heat can set lines. We do not recommend storing a marked quilt in any type of plastic bag as heat can accumulate inside the bag and set the lines as well. New water-soluble graphite is $1.99

YO-YO Templates from Clover Needlecraft ... From hearts to flowers to circles, you will love this new and easy way to sew this great little embellishment. Four sizes of round yo-yo-s, a small & a large heart yo-yo and a small and a large flower yo-yo. There is no thinking of what size circle to cut with these two new yo-yo makers! The raw edges fold inward automatically like magic.

1. Cut a scrap of fabric larger than the circular template.
2. Lay the top template on the wrong size of the fabric.
3. Line up one of the lines (there's 3) on the top template with one of the notches (there's 3) on the bottom template.
4. Snap the two templates together with the fabric in between
5. Trim the fabric 1/4 inch from the template edge all around
6. Sew through the crescent moon holes all the way around holding the raw edges against the template so they get caught in the sewing.
7. Pop out the template from the fabric
8. Pull your thread and watch all the raw edges magically turn inward for a perfectly finished yo-yo every time!

It can be difficult folding those raw edges inward the old way. These are fun to hold and sew through the template. Super first project for youngsters, too. Here are the new yo-yo makers and their prices:
