Cindy cuts the ribbon Jan. 24 at the grand re-opening of the shop in Cortland. The new store, just 50 feet from the old one, features a large classroom and expanded space to display ribbon, trims, fabric and more. Quilter's Fancy also has added a section featuring Beads by Berrie. Joining Cindy in the ribbon cutting are Joe Viole of Designers 2, Cortland Mayor Curt Moll and Carol Caronite of the Bazetta-Cortland Historical Society.

At Quilter’s Fancy take your quilting and embroidery dreams down a different path and discover embellishments. We do not carry quilting cotton fabric. Instead, you will find the nostalgia of Victorian laces and trims, silk flowers, ornately embellished silk fabrics and charms.

Ribbon roses come alive from a rainbow of hand-dyed silk ribbons and imported French wire ribbon for embellishing crazy quilts, embroideries and garments.

"We love flowers fashioned from just about every form of needlework possible and have the rare and obscure Australian magazines and crazy quilt books galore to inspire you," says owner and embellishment author Cindy Oravecz.

For all stitchers, sewing gifts and needle notions fill the walls at Quilter’s Fancy.

Learn flowermaking as well as stop in to consult with professional machine quilter Renee Hoffstetter of Kinsman about your machine quilting needs.

Enjoy Three Needle Work Shops
in one plaza

If you are traveling through northeast Ohio or western Pennsylvania, you are nearby our shop. We are located in a small country town called Cortland.

Quilter's Fancy shares a plaza with two wonderful needlework shops -- Designers Two Quilt Shop and The Lacemaker. Cortland sits on the shores of Mosquito Lake State Park where there are campgrounds and fishing available.

Cortland has some great diners, antique shops and gift shops. The world class Avalon Inn as well as Fairfield Inn, Days Inn and Holiday Inn Express are located 9 miles away.

If you love horses, Dream Horse Guesthouse is a bed & breakfast located 9 miles away in Kinsman. Visit www.kinsmanbarncats.com for more information.

If you are traveling in from a distance, call ahead and let us know you are coming. If you happen to stop by in our off hours, give us a call at 330-307-3272 and we’ll try to open for you.
